'Cutlery' Cabinet

My client’s were in Paris when they found some cutlery they loved.  They rang immediately to ask if I would be willing to make a bespoke cabinet to house it.  A few years earlier we had planked a log of mulberry from Kew Gardens which was blown over in the gales of 1987.  This tree would be perfect.  The drawers were fitted with holly linings to accommodate all the varied shapes.  The timber selection demonstrates the diversity of grain from different parts of the same tree.

Materials: Mulberry – mainly solid, partially veneered, all from the same tree  Circa: 1998
