Originally designed for use with a chess set by Malcolm Appleby in gunmetal inlaid with gold, and silver inlaid with ivory, this Macassar ebony chair has a woven seat and back of nickel silver.  Since the 1980's we have ceased using tropical timbers in favour of our extraordinary variety of indigenous woods from our sustainably managed woodlands.
